I was born on the 14th of August 1950 and I did my Matric in 1970 at Vryhed State Zulu High School. I worked at the department of Public Works from 1971 to 1979. I joined the corporate world when I was employed as a manager for the Mpumalanga Bus Services from 1980 to 1981. I was employed as a Field Manager at Ellerines Holdings until 1985. I then re-joined the public sector when I was employed by Kangwane Government Service (Department of Interior). I was responsible for operations development for the 7 townships in the Kangwane Homeland. During the holding of the first democratic elections in 1994, I was responsible for organising and running the election in the former Kangwane in my capacity as Deputy Electoral Officer.

I was the Deputy Mayor for KaMaqhekeza for 4 years and later became Mayor for 9 years up to 1995. In 1995 I was then transferred to the National Department of Home Affairs as an Admin Officer. I moved up the career ladder and when I retired in 2015, I was the Chief Director in Home Affairs responsible for the whole Mpumalanga province.

I always prioritised self-development and as a result I hold a Diploma in Public Administration & Management from Technicon of South Africa. I obtained a B’Tech Degree in Public Management which I did through UNISA. I also obtained an Advanced Certificate in Labour Law and a Certificate in Project Management through Wits University. Currently I am studying for a Diploma in Theology through Phumelela Bible College. I am a family man who is married blessed with 4 grown up children and 7 grandchildren.
