Garden Project

Helping the community to grow food

In 2018, women groups, individuals and families were supported in starting their vegetable gardens at their backyards. The support in giving seedlings to vulnerable families went down in 2019 due to reduced funding by donor community towards this project.

In addition three of the four afterschool care centres each year are provided with seedlings for planting their vegetable gardens. That helps the afterschool care centres in supplementing the food that is provided by the organisation. At the same time, it gives our OVCs an opportunity to learn the skill of preparing and planting their own vegetable gardens. Block B afterschool care centre is not supported due to shortage of water in that area.
