Jabulane Bennert Magagula

Drama Team and Library Manager

My name is Jabulane Bennert Magagula I was born in Buffelspruit but grew up in Mbuzini. I started my primary school in Mbuzini primary and went to Mbhudula high school. I completed my matric at Mahlatsi high school at Buffelspruit 1999. I live at Mzinti with my family. I joined Thembalethu Nkomazi in February 2014, after spending time working at Farmers Hope and Just Believe ministries working with Pastor Scheepers of Farmers Hope Ministries. I also worked with Pastor Jacobus Van Rooyen at Just Believe ministries. I am now the manager at Thembalethu Nkomazi for the following programs: Music, Drama Team and the Thembalethu Library.
The Drama team are talented young people who use music and drama as a means of educating the community about many issues ranging from HIV and AIDS and other health issues to positive life choices. They help to mentor the children attending the after-school clubs and we have seen the benefit as these vulnerable children gain confidence and improve school marks. I enjoy working with the youth, as of course you can expect to have fun when you get to work. What rewards me most of all about the job, is the challenge of recruiting new members and building a strong team out of raw talent. Motivating our members is not only about singing and drama but using every opportunity to improve their life and develop themselves by using every resource at their disposal.
I am inspired by our music and both myself and the team find our work fulfilling being role-models to the children. We are also motivated by the success of our former Drama team members who completed their University studies after they have been part of Thembalethu Nkomazi.
