Jabulile Sibisi

After School Care Program Manager

My name is Jabulile Rebecca Sibisi from Buffelspruit. I attend church at Holiness church. I attended school at Nkaba High School. Later I joined Thembalethu Nkomazi in 2004 during the height of the HIV and AIDS pandemic, as a care-worker doing home visits in the community.
These first years were extremely stressful as we shared together with families who were struggling through the impact of the disease combined with harsh living conditions. During this time, I learned the value of working with a strong team where we could share our challenges.
I was then promoted to coordinator for the Home-based Care project and the after-school care program where we work with orphans and vulnerable children. I am now also doing the (CCMDD) WHICH IS “CENTRAL CHRONIC MEDICINE DISPENSING AND DISTRIBUTION” program. I distribute medication to patients with chronic illnesses. I am passionate about my job because I learn new things every day. I would like to see the organization grow and expand so that the work that I do may be replicated in other communities like ours.

I motivate my staff by giving training every quarter and allowing the team to come with new ideas of making the project better and sharing ideas.
