Patric Ngobeni

Hello

My name is Patrick Ngobeni and I live in Schuzendal. In 2000 my mother passed away and in 2003 my Gogo (Grandmother), who was looking after me also passed, and I was left alone.

I was taken to Thembalethu and stayed in Good Hope for awhile and then I went to stay with Mam Rose Shongwe, who was a care-supporter with Thembalethu. I continued school at Mahlatsi High School where I passed my Matric. I want to study further next year at the Golden Future and Thembalethu. In the meantime, I am helping to run the Kids Klub, after-school care group at Schoemansdal.

I just want to tell young people that they must study hard at school and focus on their career and do what is right and to respect their parents as this is good with God.

I really want to thank Thembalethu for looking after me. I loved the Adventure Weeks they were one of the best things that happened to me in my life. I remember I attended the first one and was in the Cheetah group with Richard McKibbin as our mentor. One of the most important things for me was because we were interacting with other children in the same situation so I didn’t feel all alone.
